Smart Buildings 2019, held at Olympia London, was a tremendous success with exhibitors and visitors alike, praising the content and variety of both the conference programme and the stands on display.

Ram Venkat, marketing manager, Schneider Electric, who had one of the more prominent stands commented, "This is the third consecutive year we've attended Smart Buildings Show, it's gotten bigger and better every year. In previous years we've found that the quality of delegates and volume of leads has been brilliant, this year has been no exception. We've had some fantastic conversations throughout the morning, the speaking sessions have been well attended and our sales people on the stand have not stopped engaging with visitors."

The conference theatres were full to bursting, reflecting the 45 per cent increase in attendance and growth of the event. Highlights included a number of panel debates, hosted by IBM, IWFM and BCIA plus speaker sessions from Hoare Lee, Microsoft, Engie, Cisco Meraki and Schneider Electric.

Kim Claes from Johnson Controls, commented, “It's our first time here at the Smart Buildings Show, there have been a lot of people coming round and so far so we think it's really successful. It's been really positive in terms of lead generation, we're not just scanning visitors, we're talking to people and gaining a lot of information for follow-up. Next year we think it will be even bigger and we will not want to miss that."

Another exhibitor, Paul French, EMEA sales manager, Contemporary Controls, said, "Smart Buildings Show is very busy, we haven't stopped talking to people since we arrived, it certainly seem like the attendance has increased on last year. Last year big talking points were IoT but this year we've had varied conversations and great product enquiries."

Stephen Payne, systems sales manager, B.E.G. UK Ltd, echoed these comments, “Smart Buildings Show has been very busy this year, next year we'll need an extra pair of hands on the stand! The event is full of good quality people, exceptional delegates, and as we say, there are no tyre kickers. We've had some good enquiries, people looking for systems to be built into their projects and some good OEM enquiries where we might partner with other people exhibiting here. Overall this is an excellent experience."
