Schneider Electric eyes up hospital solution

Schneider Electric has completed a strategic project with Europe’s largest centre for ophthalmic treatment, Moorfields Eye Hospital.

The hospital has recently invested in a Schneider Electric EcoStruxure for healthcare solution in its drive to modernise its aging infrastructure. This EcoStruxure deployment features, among other facility insight solutions, RTLS (Real Time Location Systems) technology, which facilitates the tracking of staff, patients, and critical assets within the hospital premises, as well as monitoring general patient flows.
“The EcoStruxure platform has allowed me to integrate all of the systems into one proper platform, which has helped us get all of the right data at the right time. We’ve spent less man hours maintaining the system and my opex costs have gone down,” explains Chris Harding, director of estates and facilities, Moorfields Eye Hospital.
“This project is a great proof point Schneider Electric’s collaboration with world-class healthcare institutions, to provide them with innovative, cost-effective solutions that promote efficiency and safety,” said Chris Needham, healthcare solutions lead at Schneider Electric. “As with all our customers, we are commited to a strong partnership with Moorfields, now and for the long-term. Thanks to our healthcare solution experts in the UK and our EcoStruxure IoT-enabled infrastructure platform, we are able to provides Moorfields with the facility insight they need to run effectively and efficiently.”
