Loxone, says it has has simplified smart home installations with Loxone Tree, a future-proofed wiring system that reduces up to 80% of the usual cables required to connect multiple smart home accessories to its intelligent Miniserver, the ‘brain’ of Loxone Smart Homes.

The Tree Extension is priced at £87 and is part of a growing range of Tree accessories for intelligently controlling lighting, heating, security and more.

Loxone Tree is fully compatible with all other Loxone components and its open topology means that wiring can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of each project. Loxone Tree allows for completely flexible wiring on a room-by-room basis.

Each Loxone Tree Extension has two ‘branches’ allowing for up to 50 smart devices to be connected to each branch. The range currently includes a Motion Sensor, Valve Actuator and Touch Switch, with more products already in development.

With less wiring, installation time is dramatically reduced and configuration takes just minutes – a huge improvement from time typically spent on smart home wiring.

Philipp Schuster, UK MD of Loxone commented: “Just like a tree, the needs of homeowners will grow and change over time. Thanks to the future-proof design of Loxone Tree, more devices can be added when required. Such a significant reduction in cabling will further ensure smart homes are accessible to all, opening up the market to new opportunities and boosting the growth of the industry.”
