Synapsys Solutions is calling on the industry to recognise the importance of an Energy Management System (EMS) in commercial buildings thanks to the valuable role it plays in achieving a reduction in energy usage over the long-term.

The Europe 2020 plan has been well-documented with the EU targeting to lower energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by a fifth and increasing energy efficiency by 20%.
Synapsys Solutions has recently introduced a free CPD-Accredited Guide and presentation to The Role of an Energy Management System. It will explain how it uses data collected through metering and monitoring and by processing that information, produces an energy management strategy, to enable a building owner or manager to achieve long term energy efficiency.

Matt Gardner, business development manager for Synapsys Solutions said: “There are many solutions on the market which can bring short-term energy savings. However, the purpose of energy management is that it offers long-term reduction in usage and delivers a continuous improvement by ongoing monitoring.
“A BMS is only the start of the journey in which data is acquired. An EMS will provide detailed analysis of this data in a format understandable for the business owner/manager. From this, an effective control strategy can ultimately be tested and implemented to maximise savings.”
